In the Southwest region, the weather is quite dynamic today. We have a mix of conditions across multiple areas. Starting with California, rain showers are making their way inland from the Pacific Ocean. San Diego and Los Angeles are experiencing light showers along the coast, bringing some relief to the parched landscape. Moving farther north, Bakersfield and Fresno are also seeing rain, which is a welcome change.
Meanwhile, in Arizona, Flagstaff is under mostly clear skies, though some clouds hint at a potential for light snow showers later. Las Vegas remains dry, with no significant weather systems affecting the area currently.
Around Cedar City, there are clear conditions prevailing as the storm systems remain to the north and west. And in parts of northern Utah, around Salt Lake City, light snow showers are adding a dusting of white to the landscape in the mountains.
Afternoon temperatures in Salt Lake City hold steady in the mid-40s, with a high near 45 degrees around 5 PM. Expect mostly cloudy skies throughout the afternoon, complemented by a gentle northwest wind around 9 miles per hour, decreasing slightly as the evening approaches.
