Over in Phoenix, the heat peaks at 102 degrees, while coastal regions like San Diego enjoy cooler breezes. Rain is on the horizon for Northern California, possibly affecting driving conditions. Rain is sweeping into Northern California, stretching from Redding down towards San Francisco and into Fresno, offering a beneficial soaking. The Sierra Nevada has snow moving through, bringing a wintery scene to higher elevations near Reno and Ely. Cedar City is seeing a mix of rain and snow, while Salt Lake City remains partly cloudy. Down in Phoenix and Flagstaff, skies are mainly clear, but Flagstaff is bracing for a chill with some cloud cover. Los Angeles and San Diego are enjoying dry conditions with clear skies, providing perfect weather for outdoor activities.
This evening in Salt Lake City, expect cloudy skies with temperatures starting at 81 degrees at 9 PM, dropping to 72 degrees by 1 AM. Winds will be shifting from the northwest at 9 MPH, transitioning to a gentle northeast breeze at 6 MPH, and easing further to an easterly direction at 6 MPH late in the night.
Low temperatures tonight in the Southwest will bring a significant chill. Las Vegas will dip to 55 degrees, while Phoenix remains warmer at 76. Flagstaff is expecting a brisk 46 degrees, highlighting the cold air mass settling in. In Southern California, San Diego will see a low of 60 degrees, with Los Angeles close behind at 60 as well. Bakersfield will experience a low of 66 degrees.
Tomorrow, the Southwest region is poised for unseasonably high temperatures. Las Vegas and Phoenix are both hitting the century mark, soaring to 100 degrees, well above average for this time of year. Bakersfield and Fresno also expect highs around 93 degrees, contributing to the trend of warmer-than-normal conditions across the area. San Diego will be considerably cooler at 71 degrees, while Los Angeles reaches a pleasant 76 degrees.
For the Southwest, expect a largely clear and sunny pattern across the desert areas tomorrow. However, Northern California, especially around the valley regions, will experience several bouts of rain starting Tuesday night into Wednesday. In Southern California, look for showers moving into the San Bernardino Valley, leading to potentially hazardous driving conditions on wet roads.
