On the Regional Radar, a mix of snow and rain is affecting the Southwest. Clouds are blanketing areas from Redding to Fresno, bringing rain showers to portions of the California Central Valley. Bakersfield is experiencing steady rainfall. Light snow is falling over the higher elevations near Reno and extends toward Ely.
Farther east, Cedar City is encountering some snow showers, with a chill in the air. Las Vegas is seeing mild conditions with only light clouds above. Across the northern expanses, Salt Lake City is witnessing snowfall, impacting visibility. San Francisco to San Diego is largely free from precipitation.
In Phoenix this afternoon, temperatures hold steady at 65 degrees around 3 PM, with a drop to 62 degrees by 7 PM. Expect a west-southwest wind at varying speeds, reaching up to 15 miles per hour by 5 PM.
Let’s take a look at today’s high temperatures across the Southwest. In Nevada, Las Vegas is seeing a pleasant afternoon with a high of 59 degrees, while Ely is much cooler at just 37 degrees. Moving to California, both Fresno and Bakersfield hit 61 degrees, and San Francisco is slightly cooler at 59.
In Arizona, Phoenix stands out with a warm high of 66 degrees, while Flagstaff struggles with much colder conditions at 38 degrees. Redding in Northern California reaches a high of 65 degrees, showing a nice contrast with the chill further east.
Tonight in the Southwest, we’re looking at some chilly temperatures as a cold air mass sweeps through. Expect a low of 21 degrees in Ely, while Flagstaff will dip to 22 degrees. Cedar City is on track for a low of 25, presenting a stark contrast to Las Vegas, where it will be milder at 46 degrees. In Southern California, Los Angeles will see a low of 46, with San Diego slightly warmer at 47 degrees. Moving up to the Central Valley, Fresno is forecasted to reach a low of 43.
