A dynamic weather pattern is unfolding across the Southwest. On the radar, we’re seeing rain showers pushing inland from the Pacific, offering some relief along the California coast. Places like San Francisco and down to San Diego are experiencing scattered showers, making for damp conditions in these areas. Moving into the central valleys, from Fresno to Bakersfield, expect rain to continue through today, which is beneficial given the region’s past dry spells.
Venturing farther into the Great Basin, Reno is seeing cloud cover, but precipitation remains sparse at the moment. Meanwhile, Ely in Nevada has observed snow on the radar, a wintery reminder in this spring season. Heading to the higher elevations near Cedar City and portions of Salt Lake City, snow is making an appearance, bringing an early April chill to the region.
Flagstaff is experiencing a mix of rain and light snow, highlighting the variability of springtime in the Southwest. Over in the southern stretch, Las Vegas and Phoenix are enjoying dry conditions, with cooler temperatures making for a comfortable day. While Los Angeles may have light drizzle, sunshine pockets still manage to peek through the clouds.
Redding in Northern California, despite its proximity to the rain-laden coast, remains largely dry with cloud cover. This southwest tapestry of weather continues to unwind, reflecting a diverse climatic scene unique to this time of year.
