The Southwest region is encountering a fascinating mix of weather patterns today. Showers are pushing inland from the Pacific, stretching towards Redding, bringing some refreshing rain to Northern California. These showers are moving across the central California valleys like Fresno and Bakersfield, promising some much-needed moisture reprieve.
A little farther southeast, the higher elevations around Flagstaff, including Ely, Nevada, are dealing with a chill and the potential for some light snow showers. Meanwhile, more mild conditions prevail for Las Vegas and Phoenix, where dry, clear skies are offering a pleasant evening.
Los Angeles and San Diego are experiencing cloudy skies with only light drizzle, creating a mild coastal climate. Overall, this combination of weather variations provides a diverse and captivating meteorological snapshot of the Southwest today.
For this evening in Los Angeles, expect clear skies with temperatures cooling from 70 degrees at 8 PM to 59 degrees by midnight. However, California will be dealing with bouts of rain, especially in Northern California. The San Joaquin Valley and surrounding areas can expect intermittent showers that may bring heavy rain at times.
