Expect a variety of weather conditions from sunny skies to potential thunderstorms. For Atlanta, enjoy sunny days with temperatures peaking at 86 degrees, cooling down to around 46 degrees at night. The Southeast, including cities like Jacksonville and Tampa, also anticipates warm and sunny conditions. A cold front from Texas might change the scenario by mid-week, possibly bringing thunderstorms and severe weather. Stay tuned and stay safe! On the Regional Radar this morning, showers are brushing the coastal areas of the Gulf, particularly around New Orleans. Scattered rain is making its way through eastern Louisiana and toward the central parts of Mississippi. Jackson is expecting some light rain showers, drifting northeast. Atlanta is seeing increasing cloud cover ahead of potential showers, while areas like Charlotte remain under thick clouds with rain approaching. Farther east, Savannah and Jacksonville are enjoying clear skies with no rain in sight. Additional clear conditions dominate Northern Florida and the coastal Carolinas, offering a pleasant morning for those areas.
Atlanta this afternoon sees temperatures holding steady at 82 degrees under clear, sunny skies. A gentle southwest wind at 12 miles per hour is expected, providing a touch of breeze across the city. By 8 PM, temperatures cool slightly to 77 degrees with winds easing to 10 miles per hour from the southwest.
Shreveport is feeling warm with a high of 86 degrees, while Houston also hits 86 today. Over in Jackson, we’re looking at a high of 84, which keeps things pleasantly mild. Meanwhile, New Orleans is slightly cooler with a high of 81. Moving east, Montgomery reaches a high of 86 degrees, matching the warmth of Houston and Shreveport. Atlanta is right behind with a high of 84. Down in Florida, Jacksonville enjoys a balmy 86 degrees, while Tampa is just a tad cooler at 84. Miami is experiencing an onshore flow and sees a high of 79, making it the coolest spot in our Southeast region today.
Memphis will dip to 33 degrees, while Nashville is forecasting a low of 41. Over in Shreveport, expect 45 degrees, matching the temperature in Jackson. Montgomery also aligns with a low of 45. Atlanta feels a bit colder at 46 degrees, and Savannah will see a low of 50. Jacksonville is set for 55, which is notably cooler than recent nights.
High temperatures for the Southeast region tomorrow are shaping up to be significantly above average, influenced by a warm air mass settling in. In Florida, Jacksonville is set to reach a hot 86 degrees, while Tampa will also experience warm conditions with a high of 81 degrees. Miami can expect a sunny day with temperatures climbing to 82 degrees. Moving northward, Savannah is forecasted for a high of 84 degrees, and in Alabama, Montgomery will see a comfortable 75 degrees. In Louisiana, New Orleans will enjoy a high of 79 degrees, while Shreveport can anticipate reaching 79 degrees too. In Georgia, Atlanta will experience slightly cooler conditions at 70 degrees.
Expect changing conditions across the Southeast Tuesday into Wednesday as a cold front advances from Texas. Starting Tuesday, Shreveport and Jackson could see increasing cloudiness followed by rain showers moving through New Orleans by late afternoon. By early Wednesday, the front reaches Atlanta, bringing thunderstorms, which may impact the morning commute. Areas from Jacksonville to Savannah should prepare for showers and potential thunderstorms later in the day. This setup places parts of the region under the SPC Severe Weather Outlook. Monitor for severe weather warnings as strong thunderstorms could bring damaging winds and heavy rain, leading to isolated flooding risks.
