Today the spotlight on the radar is a robust line of severe weather stretching from Oklahoma City to Kansas City, with Oklahoma City facing heavy rain and potential thunderstorms that could affect travel and outdoor plans. Farther north, Minneapolis is experiencing steady rain, creating a wet day ahead. In contrast, cities like Seattle and San Francisco enjoy calm and clear conditions, providing a break from precipitation. Heading east, rain bands are moving toward the East Coast, with Washington, D.C., and New York preparing for incoming rain later. Meanwhile, in the South, Dallas and Houston remain dry, but keep an eye on evolving weather patterns that may change that outlook.
Today, the heat is on across much of the country. In the Southwest, Phoenix is sizzling at an extraordinary 116 degrees, making it the hottest city today. High temperatures for tomorrow will be notably elevated across much of the Southwest. Phoenix is set to reach a blistering 113 degrees, significantly above average, while nearby Las Vegas will also experience the heat at 98 degrees. In Texas, Dallas is forecasted to hit 95 degrees, indicative of warmer than normal conditions, and Houston isn’t far behind at 94 degrees. In the Southeast, Atlanta will enjoy a comfortable 84 degrees, aligning more closely with seasonal averages.
