Rain is advancing across Southern California, bringing showers from San Diego to Los Angeles, with a mix of rain and potential storms for coastal areas. The storm systems are moving northeast, spreading precipitation over inland areas such as Bakersfield and adding to the moisture in the Central Valley. The greater Reno area remains cloudy with potential for light rain as showers push northward. Cities like Phoenix and Las Vegas enjoy dry conditions with only increasing cloud cover expected.
Temperatures in Salt Lake City this evening start at 88 degrees at 9 PM, gradually cooling to 77 degrees by 1 AM. Winds remain light, from the northwest shifting to the east southeast at 8 to 9 miles per hour. Mostly cloudy conditions will persist throughout the evening, so you might not catch many stars tonight.
Tonight expect lows of 39 degrees in Ely, while Flagstaff will see 48 degrees. Las Vegas remains warmer at 76 degrees, but that’s a dramatic drop from earlier this week. In Southern California, Los Angeles will cool to 56 degrees, and San Diego should settle at 60. Bakersfield will experience a low of 64 degrees.

San Francisco will remain on the cooler side at 66 degrees.
The Southwest is set for a weather shift as scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop across Arizona and New Mexico through Monday. While severe weather isn’t anticipated, localized heavy downpours may cause brief flooding. Temperatures will remain moderate, hovering in the low 80s in higher elevations and mid-90s across the deserts. In California, expect clearer skies with minimal precipitation along the coast. By Tuesday, a dry and warming trend will take hold, leading to hotter conditions into mid-week.
The UV index in Salt Lake City is expected to be very high at 9, both today and tomorrow, with a burn time of about 15 minutes under direct sunlight.
