However, a shift is on the horizon with a cold front bringing thunderstorms and cooler temperatures. Each day’s weather is meticulously broken down to prepare you for what’s ahead. Don’t forget, Phoenix dwellers, the UV index is soaring, so pack your sunscreen!
In the Southwest, the radar indicates clear skies prevalent across the northern areas with Reno and Ely enjoying dry conditions. Las Vegas and Los Angeles remain dry under partly cloudy skies. Down south, rain is making its way into San Diego, bringing showers to the area. Phoenix is seeing some light precipitation, while Flagstaff braces for potentially mixed weather that could include some snow and rain. The overall activity is concentrated in the southern region, moving gradually eastward.
Temperatures in Phoenix during the evening drop from 91 degrees at 8 PM to 82 degrees by midnight. Winds will shift from the west-northwest at 8 mph to a lighter westerly breeze of 6 mph.
Tonight Flagstaff plunges to a chilly 32 degrees, while Ely experiences a brisk low of 36. Las Vegas holds steady at 64 degrees, but it’s much cooler in cities like San Diego and Los Angeles, which will see lows of 54 and 48, respectively. In Fresno, expect a temperature near 54, and while Bakersfield is slightly warmer at 55.
High temperatures in the Southwest are set to soar above average tomorrow. Phoenix will experience a sizzling high of 93 degrees, while Las Vegas reaches an impressive 88 degrees. Bakersfield isn’t far behind with a high of 84 degrees, and Fresno will enjoy 82 degrees. In contrast, coastal cities like San Diego and Los Angeles are cooler, capped at 64 and 63 degrees respectively.
A powerful cold front will sweep across the Southwest tomorrow, bringing scattered thunderstorms and showers. Temperatures are expected to drop by about 10 degrees, creating a cooler and more unstable air mass. Areas from Phoenix to Las Vegas should be on alert for isolated severe weather, particularly damaging winds and brief heavy rainfall. Southern California will experience increased cloudiness with light rain in the evening, while the upper desert regions remain mostly dry with chilly night conditions. By late evening, skies will begin to clear gradually, ushering in a dry pattern for the weekend.
