A line of thunderstorms is sweeping Central America, impacting areas from Oklahoma City northeast toward Kansas City, exacerbating rainfall that might provoke local flooding. In the Southern Great Plains, Dallas experiences overcast skies, while Houston deals with lighter storms moving through. In the Northeast, New York and Washington D.C. are blanketed by steady rain showers, which could stall commutes later. Across the West, Seattle remains dry, whereas San Francisco enjoys clear, dry conditions under partly cloudy skies.
Today, the Southwest is experiencing extreme heat, with Phoenix soaring to an eye-popping 107 degrees, far outpacing nearby cities. In contrast, Los Angeles enjoys a milder 69 degrees, creating a striking temperature divide on the West Coast. Meanwhile, in the Southeast, Atlanta heats up to a warm 95 degrees, while Tampa is slightly cooler at 88 degrees. In Texas, Dallas will see a high of 94 degrees, and Houston isn’t far behind at 91 degrees, indicating a warm day ahead for the region. Meanwhile, Denver will experience a pleasant 96 degrees as warmer air continues to dominate.
