A detailed look at the national radar reveals clear skies across much of the western United States, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Phoenix, with sunny conditions in the Rockies, such as around Denver, creating ideal summer weather. In contrast, the Southeast, from Atlanta, shows some isolated rain approaching, but Tampa remains mostly clear for now. Seattle is encountering light rain showers, while the Northern Plains around Minneapolis have scattered showers moving through. The Mid-Atlantic region, including Washington, D.C., is witnessing steady rainfall, impacting the morning commute significantly.
Today’s high temperatures reveal a significant range across the United States. In the Southwest, Phoenix is sizzling at a scorching 108 degrees, making it the hottest spot this afternoon. Dallas reaches a warm 98 degrees, while Houston is slightly cooler at 91. Over in the Southeast, Atlanta experiences a more comfortable high of 77 degrees, contrasting sharply with Tampa, which hits 85 degrees, creating an interesting temperature gradient across the region.
Now for the low temperatures tomorrow morning across the U.S. In the Midwest, Minneapolis starts off at a chilly 49 degrees, while Chicago cools down to 54. Heading south, Dallas will wake up to 76 degrees, and further east, Atlanta is expected to see a low of 66. Out west, Billings will drop to 51 degrees, and Salt Lake City starts the day at a mild 67 degrees, keeping temperatures generally above freezing across most regions.
Tomorrow, the region will experience notably high temperatures, particularly across the Southern states. Dallas is forecasted to reach a sizzling 98 degrees, while Houston is close behind at 96 degrees, both significantly above seasonal averages. In Oklahoma City, expect a high of 90 degrees, reflecting the overall warm trend in the area. Atlanta and Tampa will also see a comfortable 85 degrees, indicating a rise in warmth as summer approaches.
A cold front moving across the central U.S. will bring heavy rain and potential thunderstorms from Oklahoma City to Chicago, with gusty winds and localized flooding concerns. The Southeast, including Atlanta, can anticipate scattered thunderstorms, which may intensify with the passage of the front. Meanwhile, the Northeast, from Washington D.C. to New York, will experience persistent rain showers, impacting visibility and travel over the next 48 hours. Out West, high pressure keeps cities like San Francisco and Los Angeles dry and sunny, while the Pacific Northwest, including Seattle, prepares for more rain.
