A significant line of showers is sweeping from Texas through Louisiana, with Houston experiencing intense rainfall and potential flooding concerns. The Southeast, particularly southern parts of Georgia around Atlanta, is marked by scattered rain as storms make their way up, possibly leading to significant downpours in parts of Florida near Tampa. As we move northward, the East Coast from Washington, D.C. to New York City is dealing with a mix of rain and overcast conditions, bringing a damp start to the day. Out west, cities like Denver and Billings, as well as the Pacific Northwest including Seattle, are under dry conditions, enjoying clear and calm weather.
Today, the intense heat continues across the Southwest as Phoenix reaches an eye-popping 112 degrees, making it the hottest spot in the nation. Los Angeles remains comfortably cooler at 70 degrees, showcasing a significant temperature contrast. In the central U.S., Dallas hits a warm 91 degrees, while Oklahoma City sits just behind at 89. Over in the Southeast, Tampa and Atlanta both warm up to 89 degrees, providing a balmy but bearable afternoon for outdoor activities.
Now for the low temperatures tomorrow morning across the U.S. The northern plains will feel the chill, with Minneapolis dropping to 68 degrees and Chicago slightly warmer at 70. Moving south, Kansas City will see a mild 71 degrees, while Dallas stays comfortable at 78. In the Southeast, Atlanta will chill down to 70 degrees, while further south, Miami remains warm at 77 degrees.
Tomorrow, the region will see a significant rise in temperatures, with many areas trending well above average. Houston is predicted to reach a steamy 94 degrees, while Dallas isn’t far behind at 93 degrees. Oklahoma City will also enjoy warm weather with a high of 88 degrees, contributing to the overall warmth. Atlanta will see highs around 90 degrees, as warm air continues to dominate the Southeast.
A cold front advances through the central U.S., bringing potential severe thunderstorms with gusty winds from Oklahoma City to Kansas City.
