A coastal storm system is making its way along the East Coast, with Washington, D.C., and New York experiencing steady rainfall, bringing soggy conditions throughout the day. Atlanta, too, is seeing rain that could slow down afternoon and evening activities. Meanwhile, in the Central Plains, Oklahoma City is dealing with localized rain showers, while Dallas remains dry and overcast.
Farther west, the Pacific Northwest is calm, with Seattle mostly clear except for some isolated rain showers. Across the mountains near Billings, wet weather conditions are anticipated, adding to the day’s gloomy mood.
Today, temperatures across the nation reveal a striking contrast. In the Southeast, Tampa basks in a steamy high of 91 degrees, while nearby Atlanta is a bit cooler at 82 degrees. Over in the Midwest, Chicago reaches a pleasant 83 degrees, but Minneapolis is slightly warmer at 79. Meanwhile, the Southwest heats up with Phoenix hitting 89 degrees, while Los Angeles stays mild at 74 degrees, showcasing a notable temperature gradient.
Now for the low temperatures tomorrow morning. In the Midwest, Minneapolis will dip to 49 degrees, while Chicago isn’t far behind at 60. Heading south, Kansas City will cool down to 63 degrees, and Dallas will rest at a comfortable 65. In the Southeast, Atlanta will wake up to 64 degrees, and further south, Tampa remains warmer at 74 degrees.
Tomorrow, the region will experience quite warm temperatures, with many areas trending above average for this time of year. Dallas is set to hit a high of 91 degrees, while Houston follows closely at 90 degrees, both reflecting a warm trend. Further to the east, Atlanta will enjoy a high of 81 degrees, providing a pleasant day for the Southeast. Meanwhile, Tampa is looking at a warm 88 degrees as summer-like conditions persist across the Gulf Coast.
A cold front is set to sweep across the Midwest, bringing rain and thunderstorms from Kansas City to Chicago, potentially causing localized flooding. In the Southeast, including Dallas and Atlanta, there is a risk of severe thunderstorms developing, accompanied by gusty winds. Meanwhile, the Pacific Northwest, including Seattle, will experience rain showers with dry conditions maintaining in Southern California like Los Angeles. Along the East Coast, from New York to Washington, rain is anticipated, which could impact morning commutes with wet road conditions.
