Looking at the national radar, the Pacific Northwest, including Seattle, is continuing to experience persistent rain showers, while farther south, San Francisco and Los Angeles are enjoying clear conditions. As we move towards the Rockies, Denver is waking up to clear skies with a dry outlook ahead. Billings is also clear, making for a pleasant day in the central part of the Rockies. Heading east, Oklahoma City is seeing some light rain, while a more concerning line of storms stretches from Kansas City through to Minneapolis, bringing steady rain and potentially affecting local travel plans in these areas. Chicago is also under the influence of rain, which could linger and impact the daily routine. In the South, Houston is clear today, offering a break from precipitation, yet further east in Atlanta, a band of heavy rain is causing wet conditions. The East Coast, from Washington D.C. up to New York, remains under cloud cover with light rain expected throughout the day.
Today Phoenix is baking under a scorching 99 degrees, while Los Angeles enjoys a cooler 69 degrees. Heading east, Dallas warms up to a balmy 84 degrees, with Houston slightly warmer at 90. In the Southeast, Tampa stands out with a steamy high of 94 degrees, contrasting with Atlanta’s more comfortable 71 degrees. Up in the Midwest, Chicago manages a cool 72 degrees, while Kansas City hits 70, creating a clear temperature gradient. In the Northeast, New York and Washington, D.C., remain in the low 70s.
Tomorrow it’s a chilly start with Boston dipping to 34 degrees and New York at 39. The Midwest is particularly cold with Minneapolis at 31 degrees and Chicago slightly warmer at 34. Heading to the South, Atlanta will wake up to 58 degrees, while Dallas is a bit milder at 64 degrees. Out West, Denver has a low of 53 degrees, and Salt Lake City will be around 54 degrees.
Tomorrow Houston will see a high of 87 degrees, while Dallas is expected to hit 81 degrees, both indicating a warm day ahead. In Oklahoma City, temperatures will be comfortable at 81 degrees, aligning with seasonal norms. Over in Atlanta, expect a delightful 75 degrees, which is typical for this time of year.
Strong storms are on the horizon for the central U.S. over the next 48 hours, moving from Kansas City to Oklahoma City. Expect showers turning severe, with risks of high winds and localized flooding in these areas. The Midwest sees a mix of rain and snow showers, affecting Chicago and Minneapolis as cooler air pushes in behind. Down South, the Southeast, including Atlanta, will experience periodic thunderstorms with the possibility of severe storms, marked by heavy rain. The Pacific Northwest, including Seattle, anticipates frequent rainfall, though the Southwest remains clear, with Los Angeles enjoying sunshine. Eastern cities like New York and Washington can expect persistent rain showers, impacting travel and outdoor plans.
