On the National Radar today, let’s take a journey from the West Coast to the eastern seaboard. We start with a Pacific storm pushing inland, bringing much-needed rain to the California coastline, especially impacting San Francisco and Los Angeles with showers; meanwhile, San Diego experiences heavier rain, possibly causing travel delays. In the mountainous regions, snow is gracing the peaks, adding a touch of winter wonder.
Moving eastward, Denver stays mostly clear today, with some cloud cover. To the north, Billings faces a mix of rain and ice, while in the Midwest, Minneapolis is under a wintry mix, keeping commutes interesting. As we head farther east, Chicago is dealing with light snow and some icy conditions.
In the Southern Plains, Oklahoma City is seeing some intermittent rain showers, with Dallas and Houston experiencing heavier rain, likely to impact rush hour traffic. The real weather story unfolds in the lower Mississippi Delta, where a developing storm system is brewing rain across the region, intensifying near the Gulf Coast.
Over in the Eastern States, rain showers are moving through Atlanta, with heavier precipitation expected to impact areas surrounding Birmingham. Northern Florida, including Tampa, remains relatively clear for the moment.
Finally, up in the Northeast, cities like New York and Washington D.C. are seeing overcast skies with lighter precipitation, while farther north, ice and snow showers are more prominent, causing slick roads around the Great Lakes, including areas near Minneapolis and Chicago.
Today’s high temperatures are seeing some interesting contrasts across the country.
In the Southwest, Phoenix is looking warm at 82 degrees, while further north in Salt Lake City, temperatures are much cooler at 58. Over in California, Los Angeles is enjoying a mild day with a high of 64, and San Francisco is just slightly cooler at 60.
Moving to the Central U.S., Kansas City hits a comfortable 77 degrees, while Houston sits at 73. In the southern plains, Dallas is notably cooler at 67, creating a distinct contrast with the surrounding areas.
In the Southeast, temperatures are quite balmy. Atlanta reaches a high of 81, and further south, Tampa soars to 86 degrees, making it one of the hottest spots in the region. Meanwhile, Nashville remains a bit cooler at 70 degrees as storms are moving in.
Finally, in the Midwest, Chicago sees a high of 76, but Minneapolis is feeling much cooler at 70.
Now for the low temperatures across the U.S. tomorrow morning.
In the Northern Plains, Minneapolis will drop to a chilly 32 degrees, while Billings faces a cold 30 degrees. Further west, Denver is looking at a low of 35 degrees, with Salt Lake City slightly cooler at 36.
Moving to the Midwest, Chicago will start the day at 48 degrees. Kansas City sees a low of 46, and down in Oklahoma City, temperatures will be around 50 degrees.
Heading south, Dallas has a mild low of 68 degrees, while Houston stays warm at 71.
In the Southeast, Atlanta will wake up to 62 degrees, and Miami will be warmer at 69 degrees.
High temperatures for the region tomorrow are gearing up to be well above average, thanks to a warm front moving in.
In Texas, expect Dallas to reach a high of 82 degrees, while Houston is forecasted at a warm 83. Farther west, El Paso could hit 85 degrees, reflecting the overall warming trend.
Moving to Oklahoma, Oklahoma City will see similar warmth with highs around 85 degrees as well. To the north, Kansas City is projected to reach 78 degrees, keeping things comfortably warm.
In the Southeast, temperatures continue to rise, with Atlanta expecting a high of 78 degrees and further down in Florida, Tampa could reach as high as 87 degrees, ensuring a summer-like feel across the state.

The next 48 hours will see a variety of weather impacts across the country. A strong cold front will push across the Northern Plains, bringing snow to areas like Minneapolis and Billings. Expect travel challenges due to accumulating snow and slippery roads. Meanwhile, the Midwest, including Chicago and Kansas City, anticipates heavy rain with potential flooding, so stay alert for weather advisories.
