We’re seeing a mix of climatic variations, from rain and snow in the Northwest to unexpected warmth in the Southern states. A strong weather system is moving across the northern Rockies, bringing widespread rain to Seattle and heavy snow to the higher elevations around Billings and Denver. Rain showers are also moving into the San Francisco area, although they are lighter. Across the central U.S., strong storms are sweeping through Kansas City, with heavy rain and thunderstorms expected. This system is also impacting the area around Minneapolis, bringing a mix of rain and snow, presenting challenges for travelers.
Moving eastward, a narrow band of showers extends through Chicago down to Oklahoma City, but these are relatively light compared to the storms further west. These storms are beginning to encroach on Dallas, where patches of heavy rain are expected. Meanwhile, the eastern states, including New York and Washington, D.C., currently enjoy clear skies but should prepare for the potential of advancing storms from the west. Atlanta is experiencing isolated showers, but the overall weather remains calm across the Southeast. The band of severe weather across the central plains poses the most significant impact from this system, with the potential for high winds and substantial rainfall, especially near Kansas City.
Good afternoon! Today, we’re seeing a notable temperature spread across the country. In the South, Houston is warming up to a steamy 93 degrees, while Dallas is close behind at 88. Moving east, Atlanta also hits 88, but down in Florida, Tampa stands out with a sizzling high of 93 degrees, making it one of the hottest spots in the Southeast. Meanwhile, Chicago sees a pleasant 86 degrees, contrasting sharply with the cooler 60 degrees in Minneapolis. Out West, Phoenix is balmy at 94, while Seattle lags behind at only 57 degrees. Across the board, we have some serious warmth shaping up in the Southern states!
Now for the low temperatures across the U.S. Tomorrow morning will see some notable drops, with Minneapolis waking up to a brisk 41 degrees. Chicago will experience a low of 50, while Kansas City sits at 57. Heading south, Oklahoma City will start the day at 67, and Dallas is slightly warmer with a low of 72. In the Southeast, temperatures remain mild with Atlanta at 67 and Washington, D.C. at 64. However, many areas in the Northwest, including Seattle, will see a low of 45 degrees.
High temperatures across the East tomorrow are trending above average due to a warm front moving through the region. Washington, D.C., will see a high of 88 degrees, while New York City reaches 85. Moving south, Atlanta is forecasted to hit 86 degrees, and further down in Florida, Tampa is expected to warm up to 92. In contrast, the Midwest feels cooler temperatures as Chicago peaks at 66 degrees and Minneapolis struggles at just 51. Overall, the East will experience a noticeable warmth, while the Midwest remains relatively mild.
A cold front is sweeping through the Northwest, bringing rain and snow to areas like Seattle and Billings, with some mixed precipitation possible. As it progresses southeastward, expect cooler air to filter into Denver and Minneapolis, where conditions turn drier by tomorrow evening. In the Central Plains, storms are brewing, particularly around Oklahoma City and Kansas City. Severe weather, including strong winds and hail, is possible in these locations, warranting close monitoring. Meanwhile, a rain system spreads into the Southeast, affecting Atlanta and Tampa with periods of heavy rain and potential thunderstorms throughout the day. Houston and New Orleans remain under cloudy skies with scattered showers tapering off by late evening.
