As the U.S. experiences striking weather contrasts with the first hints of Fall, we’re seeing everything from sharp temperature drops in the Great Plains to mild and clear skies in the Southeast. The arrival of a cold front introduces severe weather, including possible tornadoes in cities like Oklahoma City and Dallas, plus thunderstorms as far east as Atlanta. Meanwhile, cities like Seattle and Los Angeles continue to enjoy generally calm conditions. Across the nation today, a weather system is causing heavy precipitation in Oklahoma City, with rain advancing into the central Plains. Kansas City is facing moderate rain, extending pressures eastward toward the Mississippi Valley. Billings is experiencing some light rain showers, while Seattle remains mostly dry. The Southeast, including Atlanta and Tampa, enjoys clear skies, though southern Texas around Houston is observing rain showers.

In Houston, expect a high of 90 degrees, while Dallas is forecasted to reach 92 degrees, both readings well above seasonal averages. Atlanta will experience a comfortable 82 degrees, and Tampa will see a warm day with highs around 91 degrees.
A cold front stretches across the Midwest into the Southeast, bringing severe thunderstorms from Kansas City to Atlanta, with risks of damaging winds and heavy rain. Oklahoma City and Dallas could experience intense weather, including isolated tornadoes, as this frontal system moves through.
