On the National Radar, we’re seeing a blend of weather conditions moving west to east across the country. Starting in the Northwest, Seattle is under clear skies, providing a respite from recent storms. Moving into the Northern Rockies, light rain is creeping into Billings. In the Southwest, Los Angeles and San Francisco remain dry, while Denver enjoys a break from moisture. Turning to the Southern Plains, the radar reveals a few rain showers pushing through Oklahoma City, while Dallas and Houston are bracing for heavier rain that may lead to localized flooding. Meanwhile, Atlanta experiences light showers, setting a cool, damp tone for the day. Transitioning to the Midwest and Great Lakes, Minneapolis is dry for now, but Chicago is dealing with a band of rain that’s pushing eastward, potentially affecting travel into the afternoon. On the Northeast radar, Chicago’s storm system is moving into the fray with New York City and Washington, D.C. watching closely as it advances towards them. Across the Upper Midwest, rain showers are drifting across Minnesota into Wisconsin, soaking areas like Minneapolis with sweeping bands of wet weather.
Let’s dive into today’s high temperatures across the nation. In the Southeast, we’re seeing warm conditions. Tampa is particularly toasty with a high of 87 degrees, while Miami stays slightly cooler at 81. Atlanta checks in at 76 degrees. Heading to the Central region, Oklahoma City hits a warm 85 degrees, and Dallas is right in line with a high of 83. Meanwhile, Kansas City registers a pleasant 79 degrees. Moving northward, Chicago is experiencing a mild day, reaching 69 degrees, while Minneapolis stays cool with just 41. Out west, Los Angeles enjoys a comfortable 63 degrees, while Phoenix tops out at 81 degrees. Notably, temperatures in the Northwest remain on the cooler side, with Seattle only reaching 54 degrees and Salt Lake City slightly warmer at 57.
Now for the low temperatures across the U.S. tomorrow morning. The Northern Plains will see some significant chills, with Minneapolis dropping to 27 degrees and Billings at a brisk 30 degrees. Farther south in Denver, the low will be 36 degrees. In the Midwest, Chicago will start the day at 35 degrees while Kansas City hangs in a bit warmer at 37 degrees. Moving to the Southern Plains, Oklahoma City will wake up to 41 degrees and Dallas will be cooler at 54 degrees. On the East Coast, New York will see lows around 49 degrees, while Washington D.C. notably stays milder with a low of 67 degrees. Down in the Southeast, Atlanta will have a low of 64 degrees before warming up.
High temperatures for the region tomorrow will trend significantly above average as warm air continues to dominate. Phoenix is expected to reach a sizzling 83 degrees, while nearby Los Angeles will warm up to 61 degrees. The warm spell extends eastward, with Dallas hitting 84 degrees, and Houston not far behind at 82 degrees. Oklahoma City will see a comfortable high of 62. In contrast, the Northern Plains are experiencing cooler temperatures, with Denver only reaching 47 degrees, creating a stark difference for the rest of the region.
“A developing storm system in the Northeast will bring heavy snow to areas including Portland and Boston, with blizzard conditions likely further north. Expect challenging travel through Monday evening. This system will also bring rain and strong winds to the Mid-Atlantic, including New York and Washington, D.C. In the Southeast, stormy conditions prevail from Atlanta to Tampa, with scattered severe thunderstorms possible. Heavy rainfall may cause localized flooding, and there’s a slight chance of hail and damaging winds. The Southwest remains largely clear with sunny skies in Los Angeles and Phoenix. However, cooler air is moving in behind the rain, dropping temperatures slightly. A cold front in the Central Plains will bring showers to Oklahoma City and Dallas, with the potential for is for isolated thunderstorms through Tuesday afternoon. Lighter precipitation is seen across the Northern Plains, including Minneapolis and Chicago, with cold air bringing a return to more winter-like conditions.”
