The National Radar images indicate a striking contrast of weather patterns across the United States today. In the West, the weather is mild around Seattle, but a band of rain is sweeping through the Rockies towards Billings, where moderate precipitation is detected and even some snow in the higher elevations. Denver experiences scattered showers, signaling an early spring pattern. As we move into the Southern Plains, Oklahoma City is under the influence of a line of storms pushing eastward, bringing the potential for severe weather.
Farther east, stormy weather extends into the Midwest, with Kansas City seeing heavy rainfall accompanied by possible thunderstorms. Minneapolis is also catching some rain but should prepare for changing conditions as the system advances. In the Southeast, Atlanta remains mostly dry, but rain is creeping up from the Gulf Coast, influenced by storms near Houston and Dallas. A wet weather pattern is advancing toward the Mississippi Valley with rain and potential flooding.
Clear skies dominate the Northeast, including New York and Washington, painting a picture of calm weather amid stormy surroundings. Some snowy conditions with a mix of precipitation are situated in and around the Great Lakes.
Today, temperatures across the central and southern United States are climbing. In the Southeast, Tampa is hitting a sizzling 90 degrees, while Atlanta is more moderate at 77 degrees. Moving to the Southwest, Phoenix is experiencing a high of 91 degrees, contrasting sharply with a cooler 62 in Los Angeles. Chicago is enjoying a pleasant 76 degrees, while Kansas City reaches into the upper 70s. The northern and western states remain much cooler, with Seattle only managing a high of 65 degrees.
Now for the low temperatures tomorrow morning. In the Northern Plains Billings drops to 36 degrees, while Minneapolis also starts the day at 44 degrees. Heading to the central U.S., Kansas City lingers at a cool 49 degrees, while Oklahoma City sees a low of 60. In the Southeast, Atlanta will wake up to a temperature of 62 degrees, and farther south, Tampa will have mild lows around 66 degrees.
Tomorrow’s high temperatures starting with Atlanta at 74 degrees, while farther south, Tampa could reach a sizzling 92 degrees. Dallas will see a high of 82 degrees, blending warm conditions with humidity. Houston can expect a pleasant high of 85 degrees. The Washington D.C. area will be enjoying a comfortable 81 degrees, creating ideal conditions for outdoor activities. Memphis will experience a cooler day with highs only hitting 61 degrees.
A cold front is set to make its way across the Midwest, bringing a mix of rain and thunderstorms from Minneapolis down to Kansas City. Pay attention to severe weather alerts in this areas. And expect cooler temperatures in the wake of this front, a change noticeable by evening. The East Coast, including New York and Washington, is primed for scattered showers as the system advances eastward. Keep watch for potential thunderstorms that may develop, particularly around Chicago. In the Pacific Northwest, from Seattle to San Francisco, rain will continue with the possibility of snow in higher elevations. The Southern Plains, including Oklahoma City and Dallas, face the chance for gusty thunderstorms as an unstable air mass progresses. The Southeast, covering cities like Atlanta and Tampa, looks generally dry but with eyes on the horizon for any next-system developments.
