From the high-pressure clarity in the Great Lakes to the challenging mix of rain and snow impacting travel in the Northeast, and the heated highs in the Southwest—every region has a story. Keep an eye out for the comprehensive breakdown and what these conditions mean for you.
Across the national radar, the Pacific Northwest, particularly around Seattle, is facing light rain showers moving eastward. Near San Francisco, rain gauges show scattered showers adding a touch of wetness to the day, while Los Angeles enjoys clear skies. The Rocky Mountains, especially near Denver, are rain-free at the moment. In the Midwest, cities like Chicago are seeing light rain.
Moving to the Northeast, particularly around New York and Washington, D.C., a mix of rain and snow is creating travel headaches, with significant snowfall in the higher elevations of New York’s interior. These conditions could lead to slow-moving traffic and possible flight delays. In the Southeast, sunny skies dominate with a warm day for Atlanta and Tampa.
Today, we’re seeing a significant spread in temperatures across the nation. In the Southwest, Phoenix is blazing hot, with a high of 93 degrees, while nearby Los Angeles remains cooler at just 61 degrees. The South is enjoying some pleasant weather, with Dallas reaching 75 degrees and Houston a warm 81 degrees. Moving to the Midwest, Kansas City sits at a crisp 68 degrees, contrasting sharply with Minneapolis, which struggles at just 52 degrees. Up in the Northeast, New York and Washington D.C. are a bit warmer, both hitting 66 degrees, making them some of the milder spots in the region.
Now for the low temperatures across the U.S. Tomorrow morning, Billings will wake up to a chilly 30 degrees, marking a significant drop. Minneapolis is expecting lows around 39 degrees, while Chicago will see a slightly cooler 39 degrees as well. Moving to the Southeast, Atlanta will have an early morning low of 46 degrees, and farther south, Miami will start the day at 63 degrees. The Southwest remains mild with lows around 54 in Los Angeles and 63 in Phoenix.
High temperatures for tomorrow are set to spike across the region, with many areas experiencing above-average readings. In Oklahoma City, expect a warm high of 84 degrees, while Dallas will mirror that with a similar 84-degree forecast. Houston will follow closely behind, reaching 82 degrees. Atlanta is gearing up for a pleasant day, hitting 72 degrees as spring continues to settle in. Farther east, Tampa is likely to bask in 84 degrees, showcasing the warm trend across the southern coastline.
A cold front is set to make its way across the Northern Plains, bringing snow from Billings to Minneapolis through Thursday afternoon. Expect colder temperatures following the front, with possible icy conditions in those regions. Meanwhile, rain showers spread across the Midwest, from Kansas City to Chicago, potentially affecting travel plans. By Thursday evening, look for thunderstorms to develop across the South, from Dallas to Atlanta, with some strong storms likely. On the East Coast, areas like Washington to New York can anticipate rain showers but with relatively mild temperatures. In the Pacific Northwest, expect clear and cool weather, while Los Angeles sees dry conditions through the period. Keep an eye on weather updates for potential severe weather in the Southern corridor, particularly from Houston to Tampa, through Thursday night.
