Across the Northern Plains, Billings and Salt Lake City are seeing scattered rain showers moving eastward, with Minneapolis experiencing moderate rainfall, potentially impacting commutes. Farther south, Dallas and Oklahoma City are dry and clear, but areas near Chicago are anticipating incoming rain showers. The East Coast looks calm with clear skies extending from New York City down to Washington, D.C. and Atlanta, while Tampa is undergoing light rain showers.
Today, the Southern Plains are feeling the heat as Oklahoma City reaches a sizzling 97 degrees, while Dallas isn’t far behind at a steamy 92. In contrast, the Southeast brings warmer temperatures with Atlanta hitting a summery 89 degrees and Tampa soaring to an impressive 94. Moving westward, Los Angeles enjoys a much cooler 75 degrees, while Phoenix bakes under the sun with a high of 106, making it the hottest spot in the country today. Up north, Chicago cools down to a mere 68 degrees, illustrating the dramatic range of temperatures across the nation.
Now for the low temperatures tomorrow morning across the U.S. In the Midwest, Chicago will dip to a brisk 32 degrees, while Minneapolis cools down to a chilly 29, prompting frost advisories. Moving to the Southeast, Atlanta is forecasted to start at 39 degrees, but further south, Miami remains mild at 75 degrees. Out West, both Seattle and Los Angeles will experience comfortable lows of 48 and 59 degrees, respectively, with nothing below freezing in the region.
Tomorrow, high temperatures across the region will trend well above average, driven by a strong ridge of high pressure. Dallas and Houston are both forecasted to reach a warm 93 degrees, while Oklahoma City will see a comfortable 82 degrees. Atlanta is expected to enjoy a pleasant high of 80 degrees, aligning closely with seasonal norms. Meanwhile, Miami will experience a tropical day with temperatures climbing to 92 degrees, showing signs of elevated warmth as summer persists.
A cold front is making its way into the Midwestern and Central Plains, bringing the potential for severe thunderstorms from Kansas City through to Oklahoma City.
